The 10 to 10.5 pip is the biggest increment for shares over 2.1 cents (2 to 2.1 is also 5%). Quite apart from any effect traders might have, 5% is a pretty big jump in MC so that's another reason for the resistance we often see at 10.
0.1 cent pips up to 20 cents would make movements much smoother because 20 to 20.5 is only 2.5%.
