I think this a fair call because it sends a message about commitment.

However I used to work for a company where we earned annual stock options and I can tell you that never once did the value of those future stock options enter my business decision making process.

In fact having a large exposure to the company stock price can encourage wrong or unethical business decisions to be made.

What I want to see is that when people get boxed in a corner, they make the best decision for the company, not the best decision for themselves. In my mind there is no doubt that Unith will face these difficult choices and whether their stock holding is free or paid, I want to see correct and legal choices made.

If they believe in the business, then they should make a personal investment, but the personal investment should not affect their business ethics.
