The public launch of artificial intelligence company UNITH’s (ASX: UNT) Digital Human platform is gathering momentum with more than 600 enterprise clients having confirmed their interest in deploying digital humans, powered by conversational AI.
UNITH’s Digital Human platform is currently utilised by beta users and a small number of clients that have launched digital humans to engage with customers and provide information in more than 60 languages. These digital humans can be educated by users who upload a knowledge base which is where the AI sources information from, enabling them to converse with customers with audio and visual elements that reflect real humans.
A public launch date for the platform under a subscription model (SaaS) has been confirmed as the 2nd half of 2024. While this could be as long as December, UNITH CEO Idan Schmorak has previously stated that there will be a staged rollout that culminates in the public launch. This could potentially mean that waitlisted customers will gain early access with UNITH’s commercial team having been busy promoting the Digital Human platform in recent months to generate those leads.
Most recently, UNITH was Invited by Amazon to present at the AWS Summit in Barcelona, showcasing the platform’s AI capabilities where Spanish users can generate digital humans and upload a knowledge base in Spanish which is then translated to English for conversations with customers.
“UNITH has increased commercial activity to generate new leads for its Digital Human solutions, and build awareness of the UNITH brand through target markets in eCommerce, retail, healthcare and education,” said Schmorak.
With UNITH Digital Humans already live and operational for clients, our commercial team showcased several solutions at industry trade shows and the AWS Conference, to build our pipeline of qualified leads and waitlist ahead of the general launch of the self-service platform.
The commercial activities which have netted a sizable waiting list are backed up by the development updates to the platform which have taken on feedback from beta users. The majority of feedback has been taken onboard which has meant some features planned for the platform have been brought forward in the tech roadmap to ensure they are live when the Digital Human platform goes live to the public.
“Growing commercial interest was complemented by our development team delivering all milestones set for the June quarter, while also adding more conversational AI features,” added Schmorak.
“Some new features for the Customer Panel and conversation engine were brought forward to the June quarter in response to user feedback. These new features are expected to encourage premium subscription upgrades once the platform is fully operational to the public.”
One of the new features not previously flagged by UNITH is new tech that will enable users to clone themselves as a digital human, solely from a selfie. This would make it simple for businesses that want to engage with their customers with a familiar face while the cloned digital human could also be used through the platform’s text-to-video function to record video presentations.
Another notable feature is an API for the Digital Human platform that enables third party web developers to directly integrate external websites with the platform. Offering a guide for developers, the API will be a powerful distribution tool for UNITH’s commercial team where external developers will be guided through customisation such as Authentication, User, Organisation, Head, Video, Head Visuals, Voices and Documents, reducing the resource requirements of UNITH’s own development team will offering clients a substantial level of customisation.
These distribution channels will be supported by other platform providers such as their integrations with WordPress and Shopify that will enable site owners on those platforms to embed UNITH’s Digital Humans.
Businesses are increasingly adopting AI solutions to address common challenges such as labour shortages, customer service efficiency, and operational costs. The ability to have a digital presence 24/7 without human limitations makes UNITH’s solutions highly attractive for industries such as eCommerce and hospitality where UNITH has had substantial interest for their virtual concierges.
For the quarter ended 30 June 2024, UNITH reported $1.22 million in cash receipts which resulted in $458k net operating cash outflows. Unlike other AI companies developing products, UNITH has a range of B2C conversational AI apps in the market that generate subscription revenue to complement their R&D towards the Digital Human platform launch publicly before the end of 2024.
