getting stuck into Gavin is easy and a bit of a cheap shot imho, he has been committed to the company for a long time and has genuinely put a lot of blood sweat and tears into it.
Searching for 4 months via 3rd party is pretty much mandatory as good governance, just picking someone who is already in business because they are competent or a good bloke is always going to generate calls of in house mateship etc…. I don’t know the bloke from a bar of soap but looking outside is smart and also prudent.
If it ends up best person is already there, then no issue. Proper process has occurred.
The harder issue is the complexity of Nolans project… and the extra heartache and costs this requires.
I really hope it all comes through, but don’t underestimate the work that has been put in or that is still required…
saying it is world class doesn’t make things happen.
