    As the articles alludes to, this is a play at the computer chip market that Taiwan holds a key position in. China would ideally like to welcome Taiwan back into the union to gain access to the money printer.

    The US are starting to renter the computer chip industry so China will need to act fast. Innovation is not a strength to the PRC.

    Regarding Arafura, it is known for its praseodymium and neodymium. Will they be mining any rare earths that contributes to computer chips or military equipment? I understand limiting exports would be a concerning step and would encourage Europe to look for supply in places like Australia.
