Well said. Every human obviously has a vested interest in protecting their environment but climate change alarmism very much feels like a cult at this point. In the absence of religion people turn to other things to provide meaning and structure to their daily lives (identity politics, conspiracy theories, sh_tposting on HC forums). Most of us want to be seen as being good people and there is no cause more nobel than saving the literal planet. It sounds good on paper but in most cases this only goes so far as virtue signalling about it online with a device constructed from conflict minerals. The irony is avant-garde tier.
The next few decades will be interesting to say the least. From what I've read the science is not as settled as some would like you to believe.
