I think that those that have done some research realise that the announcement about TGA and psychedelics in effect is not directly related to GAD.
The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) will permit the prescribing of MDMA for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder and psilocybin for treatment-resistant depression. These are the only conditions where there is currently sufficient evidence for potential benefits in certain patients. However, the small positive I see is the potential to open up the scope of treatment, which might very well one day include General Anxiety Disorder and other ailments. Baby steps for sure but some smart heads might see this opening as an opportunity to get the Science right and apply more rigorous testing/research in this field.
