My reading of this is that the last financials are the dominant driver of the SP again.
Reasoning
The market reacted very well to the Half Yearly on 17April- then the expectation of the dividend was a thing until going ex-dividend.
Ex-dividend coincided with tax loss selling season.
We are now in the next financial year so the Half Yearly sentiment has kicked back in.
Post Earnings Announcement Drift PEAD is the technical term.
Did I get it right?
You get plenty of time for reading and research in retirement when you are freed from the undignified hard scramble of wage slavery.
