This is good news – evidence that a niobium based anode supply chain is being built - XNO anode active material probably from the new CBMM/Echion niobium battery oxide plant at Araxa to a cell and battery manufacturer in Switzerland.
The way I see it, the more niobium oxide based materials for anodes, and cathodes, that CBMM is able to sell, the less they will rely on the FeNb market for maintenance of their overall niobium market share (their stated strategy – not to increase their market share but to grow the market - Ricardo Lima, CEO, 18.5.24 ). This will help WA1's FeNb production be absorbed without market disruption, and I think WA1 should stick to the FeNb production route (and perhaps consider the riskier oxide route after FeNb production is established).
