I'm one of those newby's that's only been involved with markets for 44 years, and I still think regular updates are far more valuable to keep investors happy which leads to less small shareholders selling because of lack of news and ends up with a higher overall price for the next time they need to raise capital, and therefore a bit less dilution.

There are also the rules for continuous disclosure in the market, so one announcement telling us a whole lot at once, which I expect before the quarterly, is not really in the spirit of continuous disclosure. If management/BOD are all too busy to keep updates flowing then appointing someone new to do the job would be appropriate IMHO, of which the MD just then sign's off that's it's OK for distribution.
