i think that funds use the down days as their chance to buy up. If you wanted to add more shares, would you do it when the market is green and optimistic.. or when it is blood red. Clearly the latter. Which is why it often rises on red days. So thin is the share structure that any fund buying sends it green... even on a red market day.
