Hey Naydoe, i'd like to correct some of those truckin costs are they are pretty far off the mark. (I drive for a living, big setups in outback QLD)
2600km trip, (Most likely broken down to x2 12 hour days, maybe 3 depending on the safety practices) - NT/WA has no NHVR logbook laws which allows 12 hour driving days but bigger companies set their own regulations to 8-12 hours.
Truck cost for a true triple or quad is going to be around at lowest rate $250/hr = $6000
Maintenance hard to say 1-2 blown tyres on 2600km trip still putting you at around $1600 easy
Driver Salary for triples n quads over there $3750 a week
Fuel costs on a loaded road train is usually $0.60-$1 a km depending on road/heat etc so say $5200
Total = $16550
