Oz - I share Dabbler's view - I didn't think that the Money of Mine blokes were down ramping - just pointing out risks ( as they often do and which I appreciate in areas I know little about) associated with mets and deleterious elements - well known risks with niobium deposits and I suspect most listeners would be well aware of them.
I did some work awhile back on U and Th which generally backs up your thinking. I haven't updated the data since as I consider it's enough to justify concluding that U and Th levels at Luni should be able to be managed without any difficulty. It looks like U will be more significant that Th in the pyrochlore ore.
