Whilst the shower activity is gradually increasing in the area it is not enough to quell the fires and associated thunderstorms may in fact start more. It will require a significant low pressure system to drag in higher levels of moisture from the Atlantic ocean to knock these out. The odds for that increase as we move into August, particularly if a tropical low moves northward along the east coast of the US. Frontal systems coming from the west across Canada will not hold enough moisture to knock out these big fires. Go to www.windy.com and choose the Rain/thunder tab on the right of screen to monitor for any systems developing near the US coast dragging in moisture from the east. Until then at the earliest, low sp on James Bay lithium explorers will continue.
