Definately could be other options, the system uses machine learning so the software can be "trained" to look at an image and analyse differences, doesn't really matter what they are. LBT did some early work on a system called woundvue which was to look at chronic wound changes over time. I don't think they ever found a suitable partner to commercialise it and there were other systems on the market. A little like APAS, tech is moving so fast maybe missed its window of opportunity? It's a great system and there are definately areas in the lab where it can help, but there are other competing methodologies and systems that are broader and faster so may be more appealing.
