The Chinese are recklessly screwing everyone’s economy and the environment with economic subsidies and non compliant ESG practices (by Western standards) - both of which mean they can charge artificially low prices.
It is anti competitive - deliberately.
Rebates will enable the US to protect it’s Auto industry from unfair competition and create jobs while the industry re-tools to American made EV’s.
Once the US gets behind its own EV’s China will be toast anyway. “Made in America” will win the next few elections…
