Risk/reward for opening a new short position makes little sense with news imminent…
Also - huge amounts of overpriced ASX stocks elsewhere, much more lucrative to short those with a bigger potential gain…
Always said with SYR the shorts would begin closing well ahead of news.. tax loss selling giving them a covert exit without pushing the price upwards.
