A bit naive. Putin has on an almost daily basis said Ukraine is not to exist at all. It is to all be part of Russia. You really need to read more widely. In the eastern part of Ukraine prior to the war, even Russian speaking Ukrainians supported an independent Ukraine by up to 80%. This is a Russian war of conquest only. Captured Russian papers had already shown how Putin and his cronies would carve up state and large private enterprises amongst themselves.
