I had an update from Ground Zero from Balama area during weekend from one of my friend who is in Pemba but his support staffs are from Balama area. Mondlane is currently operating from Sweden and plans his return on 9th. The newly elected president is continuation of same ruling party and confirmed by Supreme court that he has legitimately own the election (with opposition had 23% stake in last election) has announced to sworn, however things are still sketchy. Mondlane is backed by West (as they want to stake in the pie from Grand natural resource of Mozambique, outcasting China) but far behind the elected president, however still strong enough to create chaos.
In recent days Balama area is still quite because of new year holiday, however transportation halt has made general population extremely frustrated and they are demanding to neutralise situation and normalcy. Both leaders (ruling and opposition) have committed they will not create any harm to foreign investment and mines, and African leaders said they're going to mediate once Mondlane is in Mozambique. By end of January we'll see a resolution but one thing is sure Balama production will commence as soon as thing becomes normal. HOLD and WAIT is my position as cloud will start to clear soon but DYOR for any BUY or SELL action.
