No. With AAM there is a gap between starts production and first sales. Under the off-take, Tesla have to test the AAM which takes time and SYR have to ramp to a 8ktpa run rate before first sales. Tesla require a guarantee of supply at volume to use it in a battery manufacture production run for one of their line/s.
However, there is a criteria in the off-take where the agreement maybe terminated if SYR doesn't start production by 31 May 2024 and achieve final qualification by 31 May 2025. SYR only send a sample to be tested and if given the all clear, the rest will be sold to Tesla after being stored on-site inside the original building.
