You missed my original point completely, my reply was addressing your statement regarding "if you simply hold you'll always be much better off". If you actually took the time to absorb my first post, my commentary was about taking advantage of opportunities, hence "don't forget to take profits".
Previously I had an attitude of just setting and let it grow, along with a trading batch, but the experience of huge price cycles over 8 years meant my strategy last year was to sell the majority of my holdings with a price target above $17, learning from the previous massive dips, but unfortunately we only just pipped $17 for an instant.

I should have unloaded @ 16 or 15 but just couldn't pull the trigger,(totally my blunder) I won't fall into that trap again, sometimes the rear view mirror is a place where you can gain wisdom and learn from your mistakes. I'm here to make money and if I'll take advantage of any knowledge I can from my previous decisions good or bad.
