They arrive at a long term incentive price for lithium carbonate of 24,000 USD per tonne. This is based on an EV sales forecast of 44 million units in 2030 (This should also include plugin-hybrids and extended range vehicles because they cite 14.5 million units for 2023, basically the numbers from ev-volumes.com) and 2.8 million tons of demand. I think both the EV sales estimate and the lithium demand number for 2030 are pretty conservative, especially when compared to other various other forecasts. Considering how fast China is moving, I think it is almost certain that both numbers will be significantly higher in 2030.
