Wonder whether Rio can see any synergies between the Galaxy (ex-James Bay) spodumene project and the Nemaska Whabouchi spodumene project or whether they would give priority to a project they own 100% of over a project they own only 50% of.

Or whether they see any competitive advantage in working on an on-going relationship with the world's largest car manufacturer (that happens not to be American).

Or whether they see Arcadium's collection of assets as a means to being in the vanguard of upstream operations supplying into a major new global industrial sector or nothing more than a sophisticated (probably technically legal) tax scam.

I also wonder whether Rio would consider it ideal to have one of its key industry units being run by someone whose only claim is to have prospered in the dog eat dog world of investment banking. If this rumour has any legs you can bet your bottom dollar Pall Graves and Peter Coleman will be fully focused on what they can get out of the deal rather than on what their shareholders get offered.

In some ways getting bought out by Rio would be a relief but it would also result in shareholders leaving a lot of money on the table.
