I think thats exactly the point. Its not in the wests interest to keep buying Chinese anything. It stops the necessity for the west to produce. After china (or any other countries for that matter) corners the market, they will make the west pay.
Europes reliance on Russia should be the perfect example.
Self reliance, and following that, allied reliance should be next in line.
So, my feelings are, we in Aus should be very much considering the same scenario.
In terms of our jv plant, we should do what they do, copy their tech and replicate it cheaper.
