Trump’s Former Advisor Plans to Invest 66 Billion DKK in GreenlandDrew Horn, former chief of staff for the Office of International Affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy during Donald Trump’s administration, is currently leading a group of American businessmen on a tour of Greenland. Their goal is to invest approximately 10 billion USD (around 66 billion DKK) in various sectors, including mining, energy development, and fisheries.Horn now serves as the director of GreenMet, a company that invests in Greenland’s mining industry. During his tenure at the White House, he visited Greenland and engaged with politicians from both the government and opposition, as well as private stakeholders, to discuss investments in the mining and energy sectors.Currently, Horn and his team are visiting sites like Killavaat Alannguat near Narsaq, south Greenland where the American-owned mining company Tanbreez received an exploitation license in 2020.Greenland’s Minister for Business, Naaja Nathanielsen, responded to Horn’s visit in a written statement to KNR, emphasizing the importance of sustainable and responsible investments that align with Greenland’s interests.
