Simple supply and demand principles would see the CRML share price plummet to next to nothing if they tried to do this. There’s what, not much more than ~200,000 shares that have been sold on Nasdaq so far and even this has caused the price to fall nearly 50% since listing. Imagine trying to offload 67 million!

This is the fundamental problem here with thinking a company can just impute a value and have the market believe it, sure the balance sheet might show an asset with a book value bearing a billion dollars, but they have nowhere to sell that asset for a billion dollars right now.

People keep saying the ASX investors don’t get it..no, the ASX investors get it perfectly well..that billion dollar shareholding is essentially worthless - until significant project progress occurs and significant risks are mitigated (such as the lithium price improving and stabilising to a point where you’re not making a US$3500 per tonne loss or thereabouts on your product, which is what your current DFS shows). Others such as updated DFS, locked in and binding offtake agreements with realistic prices, significant levels of project funding received, all mine and plants designed and permitted and in construction or close to it, additional drilling to prove viable resources which hopefully includes better grades, much thicker intervals and much shallower than the current 10-12mt at 0.6-1% resource.
All those things that other companies need to do to prove their worth, not just an implied valuation of some shares you issue yourself.

Nobody or no amount of Nasdaq investors would contemplate buying all those shares for anywhere near a billion dollars right now with all those boxes above I ticked, plus I’m sure many others not at top of my head.

EUR can sell their shares to institutions and this would be off market with provisions. At more than 51% they get 4 board members. They cannot sell on market under lock up rules.
