It’s not up for debate. It’s happening and we’re all pre-warned. Although there remains long-term offtake contracts, there is little trust now on Chinese-based pricing. PLS started their own auctions which you’re probably aware if.. but they’ve run out of excess product. Next and bigger fanfare are Abemarle’s auctions later this month. Then we’ll have transparency of what demand/supply pricing should be. Fastmarket is in the gig, so is BMI… in fact everyone important are part of it - the move towards transparent lithium pricing outside of China. All the OEMs are also involved (although not explicitly known as they don’t want to be seen meddling up the supply chain, focusing on the bottom part and wanting to stay there if possible).

Theres no set timeframe but it’s already begun. Business hates uncertainties the most and right now, lithium market is like the wild wild west, which everyone wants to quickly change.
