IOCGs can be mined in open pit @ 0.6% Cu (even less) if the tonnage is there, a few 100Mt (+1Mt Cu resource to warrant the capex). Equally, can be mined underground at the same grade if the ore blocks piece together for sublevel caving.

Rio Tinto are pushing ahead to mine Winu @ 0.45% CuEq, it's a game of scale and if you have the tonnes the majors will want it. Ironically, RCR's Pokali copper discovery is completely surrounded by Rio Tinto leases, they're copper hungry so let that sink in.
