Regal is accused of short selling during the process of a large block of a semiconductor stock being sold when they were involved in purchasing some of the shares thereby getting a lower purchase price. The accusation is that this constitutes insider trading. If true then the strategy relied on the share price normalising. The company and long term share price being unaffected. The crime would be against the seller of the block of shares. The company was not affected by the transaction. No major conspiracy here.
