I was talking across a wider horizon than day to day where individual stock can move due to company specific factors.
Take a look at the 6 month chart below. STX and IGO is almost on the same trajectory. PLS has only started to underperform relative to STX and IGO since end of March. Compare all of them to the overall Miner and Metal index (XMM) which is only down 1.65% over that same time window.
Looks like a decent correlation to me, but it might just be my old eyesight playing tricks on me
