EVR didn't 'just acquire an antimony project'. They announced the 70% acquisition of the mine back in January this year. The announcement yesterday was simply to confirm completion of the deal.
The antimony canyon deal was done because EVR were almost out of cash (again, you can check their quarterly to confirm this).
EVR also has a particular track record (which you can easily examine in less than 5 minutes if you read through their last 1-2 years of announcements), which goes some way to explain why a company would pick up some tenements and then sell them a few months later.
Also worth noting that as part of the deal, EVR maintains upside on Antimony Canyon in Utah because they accepted a considerable amount of shares as part of the deal (again, something you could have confirmed if you read the ANN):
