I worked in this space, initially solar & Battery into briefly EV charger. This is solved very easily and inexpensively. What companies are going to do is offer to install several EV chargers in the garage area or wherever is suitable in the building and give everyone their individual access card to use it. Meaning, only they will be charged for their usage and not the body corp or other tenants.

The companies and one I chatted with in person said they will install them for free too, they will take a small cut of KWH usage, basically what the power companies do with your electricity usage.

So this ABC report is nonsense, the only true thing is that all future builds are 100% being required to build in chargers points as standard

Of course, the tenant if they really wanted their own personally wired-up charger could do that, for enormous cost, but only a fool would do that at this stage.
