totally agree with you, but as I said, it’s in the nature of funds to short on the newbies and Vanguard in particular will short it, they have absolutely nothing to lose by doing so, stock goes down they have to hold until the next rebalancing, the stock goes up, they still own the stock, the stock does nothing they get their 10% interest, win, win, that’s why they and many others do it.
