TA is a direct link to FA. The market is usually right, so the chart represents almost every aspect of a company.
Charts can be used for future predictions as it's the only indication of support and resistance levels. As sentinel mentioned, charts are fact and a historic report of the share price.
We've all got opinions and mine is that charts are far more important than FA in identifying entry and exit levels.
Take CXO or MNS as an example - both have promise fundamentally but technically they are not a buy now. You would need to see a confirmation of a trend reversal (today may be it for CXO) to allow a sensible entry. Fundamentals wouldn't come in to it at all right now.
