As stated by someone over on the EGR thread, the US Patent appears to have a long way to go yet. Australian patent even longer.
"The Patent has been approved and accepted for “Method of Producing Purified Graphite” which is only 1 component of the full patent application. I believe EGR will have also submitted other protection patents which are still under review hence the continuation part. A "continuation application" is a patent application filed by an applicant who wants to pursue additional claims to an invention disclosed in an earlier application of the applicant (the "parent" application) that has not yet been issued or abandoned"
Its all a bit to take in and I'm not going to pretend to understand it all. Let's see how it all plays out but I trust DC when he states " irrespective of the outcome of either of these patent applications, we don’t anticipate that the Siviour Project will be adversely impacted, as we have HF-free and caustic-roasting processes that are outside the scope of the pending patent applications".
I wish both companies success, there's certainly room for them.
