You do realise the vast majority of people are buying EVs for reasons unrelated to the environment, right? There are many advantages of electric over ICE, such as lower running costs and better convenience.
There will definitely still be the need for gas and oil etc., and I feel like some policies such as the one announced today in Victoria are silly, but that's not going to stop the rise of EVs.
