MELB3000:
And thanks you too, if you're using a lithium-ion powered smartphone or laptop to post here!

There are a whole array of ESG initiatives coming across the battery supply chain to enable tracking of minerals from mine to manufacturer, such as the Battery Passport. Tesla is also pushing harder back on suppliers and auditing their supply chain better to weed out unethical providers:

The transition from ICE vehicles to EVs will assist in reducing transport's contribution to global warming, but it is just that - a transition. Whether you're doing an ESG dive on vehicle inputs or GHG lifecycle analysis, we don't magically go from 100% bad to 100% good. Any product has a footprint. EVs are treading lighter than traditional autos, and will do better as the industry matures (at least in the west).
Renascor well placed to score well with the Battery Passport (and therefore attract a higher price from off-takers) with a low carbon miles operation due to:
- vertically integrated mine-concentrator-PSG chain with low km land travel, before shipping finished product to battery anode or cell makers
- low strip ratio, so less intensive mine operations
- utilising 100% of concentrates production with improved yields now ~65%
- purification process avoids use of traditional reagent hydrofluoric acid, using less harmful sulphuric acid and a caustic solution
- recycling of and reduction in reagents and water used
- mining fleet on hire purchase agreement > may move to electric vehicles when available
- operating in one of the world's greenest electricity grids
