The reason that I posted kiara is to illustrate how difficult it would be to produce x million tonnes of graphite using this process. What sort of dystopian, hellish landscape would it create?
Energy of 8MWh/t to produce. The average cost of a megawatt in Oz is $83. So $664/ t. The cost of a tonne of pet coke on today's market is 395 AUD.
SO WITHOUT the labour machinery, transport etc.etc, it would cost $ 1059/t
to produce synthetic in Oz.
