According to data from 2013, India has reserves of about 11 million tonnes of graphite1. Graphite occurrences are found in states like Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Chattisgarh and Rajasthan1. Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, and Odisha are the states with the highest graphite resources in India
163,000 tonnes
Syrah said graphite production more than doubled to 163,000 tonnes in 2022, from 72,000 tonnes the year before, as improved recoveries and stable grades offset the impact of 41 days of industrial action at Balama between September and October.
