Overnight Business Korea reported that the Chinese government has approved the export of 'synthetic' graphite for cathode production to POSCO Future M.
Interestingly, they mention cathodes rather than anodes? Nevertheless, they state that China retains control to further export restrictions. So, there is no security of supply especially if 'potential deterioration in U.S.-China relations and other factors' come into play.
What are those other factors they do not specify. Yet, the question remains about the ESG credentials of synthetic to meet worldwide legislative tax breaks.
