In the What The Facts (WTF) interview, DC did say that anode / cathode manufacturers are starting to sure up / sign non-chinese graphite supplies. I wonder if you can have a binding offtake that is linked to some future "floating" price - or even cost + a percentage profit. Just don't bind all the output - a bit like hedging gold.
They need to think creatively as China will always manipulate markets to suit their needs. The same is happening in the nickel space as they have invested a lot of money / science into Indonesia nickel production.
