What are you taking about, it’s pretty simple Physics. Electromagnetic induction does not require any contact to induce a voltage (and current), the current charges a battery. I’m not entirely sure of the practicalities but it is definitely possible.
Just did a quick google and the tech is here now, haven’t gone too far into it to see how efficient it is. I’ve always thought there would eventually be electromagnet induction charging at traffic lights and major highways someday.
