Interesting that Samsung SDI lobbying to reclassify graphite as a non-traceable battery mineral as it only accounts for 3-4% of the battery value. Then goes on to say 97% of supply came from China last year.
This is exactly what the IRA is seeking to address. Suppliers squealing and lobbying to adjust the arrangement is a sure sign that change is real. The oh shit moment has well and truly arrived.
Puts RNU into a stronger negotiating position, now if only there was some material movement on pricing to support the economics and stop this standoff that has prevented deals from executing.
