I know of at least one Australian company operating in Canada that had to bankrupt its critical minerals processing factory due to not being able to secure funding or ongoing in-kind support from either Canadian or Australian Govt, even after the Canadian Prime Minister visited the site for a photo op.

All good to announce partnerships and throw a party, but these companies need support, even while initially making losses, where the tires hit the ground.

That company ended up selling out to Chinese, even after the whole idea was to break the sino monopoly on this particular comodity.
