When I see a million shares bought in a single trade, then100-300k sold back using CBOEs Hidden Liquidity platform I am pretty sure that’s the same buyer selling a few to create the illusion of a sell down to entice retail into selling.
For absolute confirmation that most of the trades today were manipulated just look how all the sell side was removed at 4:10pm following the closing auction.
Most insto trading desks have a compliance rule that trades don’t stay on over night. So as soon as the market closed the sell side completely disappeared.
They were also scooping up any selling all day that came to the midpoint. So they rarely had to pay as much at 12c picking up all the selling at 11.5 and 11.75.
Watch the next few days could be interesting if sellers dry up and buyers can’t soak any more at this level price will step up.
