@mattyman174 You are conflating his political stance on China with his more nuanced position on local manufacturing of EV supply chains. I'd suggest you do some research on the matter as it doesn't sound like you are well informed on the topic.

He has been very outspoken on his dislike toward the IRA and the other policy ambitions of the Biden administration to set up local industries that can't compete on a cost-effectiveness basis with other nations (i.e., China). As @Allornothing11 points out, he has an interest in maintaining the local oil and gas industry which is more economically beneficial for the country than spending ludicrous amounts of tax-payer money to set up local EV supply chains.
