We are caught by the Fossil fuel moguls & Chinese fight for world dominance atm imo.
Need plenty of coal to heat the pet coke leftover from oil-fuel conversion to make synthetic graphite. $$$$ to F/F industry
Need highly subsidised power to pay for the extreme heat to produce synthetic. Power play by China.
This will be uneconomic & unacceptable to the world at some point. When?
It constantly amazes me how powerful greed is. Mankind will sacrifice almost anything for a few $$$$.
Remember- it all starts at home with a choice by us to buy a battery containing synthetic graphite because the product it is in is a few dollars cheaper than a competitors clean(er) product.
