im optimistic it will come much faster than the next couple of years. 2nd half China car sales are historically much stronger if not double. China from memory is 1/3 of the worlds auto sales. Chinese EVs are absolutely crushing legacy automakers in price and sales to the point they are abandoning the market and add to the fact their people will choose Chinese brands for nationalistic reasons.

in parallel, China EV companies are building out export markets all over the BRICS nations and other developing nations with local manufacturing or assembly, I'm quietly optimistic that China will go into deficit as per forecast of 2025. Russia, Thailand, Brazil, Mexico among many other countries are all building new Chinese EV factories for local or regional distribution or retooling abandoned legacy carmaker factories.
