graphite prices have tanked. The price of spherical and flake is basically the same as the opex required for rnu to dig it up according to the bam. There's no point for DC to move quickly right now unless he wants to sell us out below value. If we get a boa, the pricing probably isn't gonna be that great. He has no leverage. It requires patience.

some time between now and 2026 two critical things need to happen. 1) china needs to go into deficit for graphite supply so they can't over produce, keep the price down and delay ex-china mines being built. 2) ex china graphite needs support, ira, graphite tariffs, legacy auto getting their act together to be able to build cheap EVs to compete and drive adoption.

both these points will move graphite pricing into the territory where rnu can be revalued. If these two things play out (imo high probability before 2026) then we are all golden. If not, then this was a bad bet. Until then there will be very little interest in rnu to drive re rate the stock. Think about this, at bam prices rnu has a npv of 1.5bn. we are valued at 200m right now.

imo there's too much at stake for this not to play out. China and the west are escalating trade tensions, graphite is not only needed in EVs but other critical applications like defence which is too important to be reliant on china, legacy auto face extinction by Chinese EVs if they don't accelerate and this will do untold damage to several countries gdp. For now all we can do is what we are doing, tick boxes towards construction, keep relations warm till we can negotiate finance and offtakes.
