I don't believe people are dumb, just cautious (myself included). There is so much uncertainty in the world at the moment. Anything can happen. Throw in the fact that we are all just normal humans, therefore getting a bit un-levelheaded and thinking the worst at times. I guess we all just need to zoom out, comprehend your points above and hope that graphite doesn't go away anytime soon.
